Friend of mine let me know that Becky Nosferatu of Dragon Keep sent out a note card claiming that I stole Mephitis's sculpt maps for my leg pieces.

This is something that I thought was over with (other than minor rumors of course) But I guess I was wrong.

Like always I leave the decision up to you... Decide for yourselves if I am a thief... or creator.

Sculpt Maps Stolen - Mephitis Jezebel


A friend of mine pointed out some stolen maps from Mephitis Jezebel. Normally I don't get involved, but this person has gone untouched in SL for stealing these maps.
The person who stole Meph's maps is Lerochelle Destiny. This person's account was made MUCH later than Mephs- 2/1/2008. Mephs account was 2/1/2006.

The person admited to Meph that they were heavily refrenced... but in the picture- The maps are practically identical. Copywrite law states that the only way said "infringment" must be at LEAST 30% difference. These are a far cry from mearly 30%.(Photos removed)

While the pictures show differences- let me point out some things. The maps, on Mephs legs, the rez "seam" is right along the back end, along side the 'muscle' indent- while this leg map was rezzing, they ALSO had this seam.
The front of the leg has an odd indent in the front- along the ankle line, and so does the "copy."
The pull seams are ALSO identical. Mephs limbs are also different- they were mirrored OUTSIDE of SL, and uploaded to look different for both limbs. LeroChelle's limbs however, are exactly the same- both the left side, which you can tell because the ankle on Mephs point slightly to the side of the leg.

Lerochelle Destiny: yes i did use the avenity for refrence... i just loved the shape of them... but thats about it

You be the judge now. If you think this person has ripped of Mephitis, please report them to LLs ASAP.

Regarding Lerochelle - Wingless Emoto

[21:31] Wingless Emoto: you may want to take a look at the legs in the "De La Fae" vendor in northstar... saw them in the vendor and they were suspicious, but I saw them ingame and it looks like ripped sculpts from the fox- not in the "OMG furry it's a similar shape" way- in that is has the same weird spots- feet and legs on her cat-neko.. things... and I had a similar issue with her using my horse legs, durring the discussion of which she told me she had no skill in 3D programs at all.. and within less than a week of that, the fox-like legs showed up

Maldavius did a UUID check a few weeks ago and the claw UUID she's using on her avatar feet match mine. Direct theft right there. I spoke with one of Lerochelle's friends and they witnessed her using a program called SculptyPaint to make slight modifications to the ripped leg textures (such as smoothing out the tops). Wingless Emoto has also reported having trouble with this same content thief.

Now on a side note... a rather MAJOR attack is going on against me by several different avatar creators in SL that I thought you all should be aware of.

I am being accused of stealing the leg sculpts (among other things) from Mephitis Jezebel of Avenity Avatars.

All I can say is that this is untrue along with several other things they say and claim. But ultimatly, it's up to you to decide in all this.

The notecards that are being passed around are copied to the DLF Blog in full (other than having to take pictures and other incompatable items out of course) Check it if your so inclined.

I have not only lost an unknown amount of sales over this matter... but also have already had one Vendor in my mall leave because of this (this is my assumption as she wrote one of the notecards herself).

Many.. MANY abuse reports later and I am getting fed up with LL not doing anything about this. As you can well understand either side of the fence your standing on. This has been going on since Sept. 08. And I had not heard anything other than the softest of whispers from time to time about it. I am fed up with all this.

All I can say is that I did not do what they are accusing me of and have no way of copying sculpt maps from other people. But like I said... It's up to you to decide for yourselves.

Yesterday I took Pictures of a progression of sculpts I uploaded that I made along with having my friend drop her Avenity Fox leg next to mine and remove the texture. I also took a plain sculpt of my sculpt and resized it to the avenity leg sculpt size... that right there proves that these are my own sculpts because the difference is... lets say... remarkable. The progression is to prove that I DID and Can sculpt on my own... its called learning.. something I am fairly fast at with programs and such. Also... How would I have gotten a hold of the Avenity leg sculpts?

Plus on the UUID matter... right now there is a bug in SL that makes ALL prims have the same UUID... all ZEROS... so maybe thats what this Maldavius didn't realize. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1215
